History of 6/7 Dronningens Gade. Built in the 1830s by Danish pharmacist Albert Henrich Riise, it housed the first pharmacy, "Apothecary Hall." Inherited by his son Valdemar, the building suffered a fire in 1895, damaging the third floor, which was never rebuilt. Valdemar left for Denmark in 1913. The Paiewonsky family later acquired the property, continuing the rum business under the A.H. Riise name. Governor Ralph Paiewonsky used it as his residence in 1961. Today, it hosts duty-free shops, offices, and the St. Thomas & St. John Chamber of Commerce.
