History of 21 Drons. Constructed in the early 1800s, 21 Drons comprises a sprawling mixed-use complex of offices and retail establishments stretching from Main Street to the Waterfront. Historical records from 1897 indicate that D. H. Jurgensen owned the buildings primarily for liquor distribution and provisions, with the southwest corner building serving as an office for the operation. The warehouse on the east side served for miscellaneous storage, while those on the west were utilized for distillery production. Main Street and Guttet Gade storefronts were integral to the operation and operated primarily as retail shops.
